Plan for a Bad Week: CVD Patients

Note: A “Bad Week” in this program refers to a period when you are not able to fulfill normal obligations. It can be just a couple of days, or a much longer time period.
Who It’s For: Ever think about what would happen if you took an emergency week off? Would someone remember to feed the dog? Who would take the kids to school? What else would you worry about while lying in a hospital bed? This program is about creating a plan for that emergency week a time of increased symptoms, a difficult treatment or procedure or unpleasant side effects from medications. You’ll be able to rest easy and focus on getting better to you ever have to be in the hospital or on bed rest for a while.
What You’ll Do: For the next four weeks, you’ll work on listing everything that you do on a regular basis and creating a plan so those things can get done without you. This way, you can take a week off when you are feeling bed or you won’t have extra stress if you find yourself needing a procedure done. Do yourself a favor and be prepared for anything with these four skills:
Results to Expect: You will benefit from having this plan in place even if you never use it. Just knowing that you’ve already made arrangements and that things will be okay will leave you feeling more in control of your life. And should you ever need the plan, it will be there for you.
