Who It’s For: Pain is a difficult, frustrating and complex health condition. Other people do not see and cannot understand what you are feeling. You may not have clear knowledge of what is happening in your body. To gain more control over your pain, you need to understand the latest research and medications. You also need to be very familiar your own body and the triggers that make your pain better or worse. In short, you need to become an expert in pain – and this program will help you do it.
What You’ll Do: Over the next four weeks, we’ll give you skills and tools to experiment with. You can use these skills to find reliable information, to further develop your understanding of key terms and concepts, to gain insight into your pain and figure out what helps it or makes it worse and to learn how to talk to others about your condition. The four skills in this program are:
- Surfing the Medical Web
- Be a Pain Encyclopedia
- Keep a Pain Symptom Log
- Become Articulate
Results to Expect: By the end of the program, you will greater knowledge about pain. You will feel more in control of your health. You may have made some new connections between things like your sleep quality or stress level and your experience of pain. You will be able to explain your pain to others without making them or yourself uncomfortable. Ready to get started?
