Who It’s For: Meditation can reduce stress, decrease negative emotions, increase creativity and promote good health. It can help you live more mindfully and deliberately. You can benefit from meditation if you are interested in establishing more control over your emotions and stress level. This program is for you if you also want to cultivate your mental abilities and increase your concentration.
What You’ll Do: While there are many types of meditation, this program focuses on developing the core meditation skills of sitting and focusing. Over the first three weeks of the program, you will develop a daily habit of sitting and focusing each day. In the fourth week, you will bring meditative experiences into your daily life. By the end of the program, you will have developed a daily meditation habit. The skills are:
Results to Expect: Expect to feel more calm and in control. You will also develop a greater ability to concentrate and focus on one thing. Your mind will be more still and you will be less likely to be distracted by emotions and stray thoughts. Your stress level will decrease and you will have more mental energy to direct toward things that will bring you success or pleasure. Meditation has also been shown to improve many chronic health conditions, especially ones related to heart health.
