Program: Improve Your Cholesterol: Quickstart

Who It’s For: Maybe your employer held a health fair and you got your cholesterol levels checked, or maybe your doctor checked it as part of a routine visit. Maybe you don’t know your exact numbers, but you do remember that your last results were not very good. Regardless of how you found out your numbers were off, then this is the program for you.

What You’ll Do: The program starts with focusing on reducing foods that raise your LDL bad cholesterol. Most of these foods come from animal sources. To really make an impact, you’ll start with becoming a “sortof” vegetarian, meaning you’ll greatly reduce your meat and dairy intake. Next, you’ll learn to eat more of the foods that raise your HDL good cholesterol. These are tasty things like salmon, avocados and nuts. In the third week, you’ll begin a process that will have you exercising every day. Finally, in the fourth week you will pull it all together and make a longterm plan to keep your cholesterol numbers in the healthy range. Over the next four weeks, you’ll learn these skills:

Results to Expect: Better cholesterol numbers, for one. It will take a few months of really adhering to this program, but your numbers will improve. You will also have more energy from the exercise. You’ll sleep better. You may lose weight and you’ll get better nutrition. Sound good? We think so, too.
